Description 

This course is designed for participants that work in the health care setting (nurses, sports medicine medical and dental professionals) and other targeted responders such as; fire services, lifeguard or response team. It covers the health care provider standards of CPR for adults, children and infants as well as choking procedures and AED.

Duration

4 hours (Half day).

Completion 

  • Successfully demonstrate skills and critical steps
  • 75% mark for written knowledge evaluation
  • Attend and participate in 100% of the course

1-year certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Shock
  • Adult, child and infant CPR and choking
  • Automated external defibrillation (AED)
  • Heart attack, angina, stroke and transient ischemic attack (TIA)
  • Bleeding and burns
  • Sprains, strains, dislocations and fractures
  • Respiratory (asthma), anaphylaxis, seizures and diabetes
